Existing Business

Plenty of support for existing businesses and entrepreneurs

Putnam County, West Virginia understands the importance of supporting companies that have started here or chosen to do business here. That’s why the Putnam County Development Authority is committed to supporting existing employers and helping them find resources for their needs.

If your company is considering an expansion of your facilities and/or your workforce, we can advise you on available incentive programs and opportunities for other benefits such as state funding for workforce training. We work closely with educational providers like the Putnam Career and Technical Center to ensure that curriculum supports the skills and knowledge employers are seeking, and to help PCTC design customized training courses.

We also support West Virginia’s efforts to include Simulated Workplace training as part of all career and technical education programs as a way to ensure students gain the soft skills and practical knowledge they need to successfully enter the workforce.

In addition, we work regularly with local utility providers to discuss the needs of local employers and encourage communication between utilities and companies to ensure that rates are favorable and planned work is aligned with operations schedules.

If you’d like to know more about what we can do to support your company’s goals, please contact us today!
