Economic Gardening

The Putnam County Development Authority has partnered with Advantage Valley to introduce the Economic Gardening program, targeting growth-oriented companies that serve markets beyond the Charleston, West Virginia metro area. Eligible companies, with 6-100 employees and a track record of growth in two of the past five years, can participate in this program at no cost, thanks to Advantage Valley’s collaboration with the National Center for Economic Gardening (NCEG), pioneers in economic development strategies for over two decades.

West Virginia companies selected for the program will benefit from 36 hours of specialized services provided by NCEG’s expert team. These seasoned researchers utilize advanced corporate databases, GIS systems, SEO, and web marketing tools to deliver CEOs critical insights and data-driven conclusions. Upon completing the research phase, companies may qualify for up to $5,000 in technical assistance to implement the NCEG team’s recommendations. Contact us today to determine if your company is a suitable candidate for this program and let us assist you in expanding your business footprint throughout Appalachia!

Industrial Access Road Program

The Industrial Access Road Program, a collaboration between the West Virginia Department of Economic Development and the Department of Highways, supports counties, municipalities, and economic development authorities in enhancing industrial roadways. Eligible projects can receive unmatched funding up to 10% of their capital investment, capped at $400,000 annually per entity. Counties may apply for a maximum of $400,000 per year, with an additional option for a $150,000 matched grant, contingent upon private investments ten times the grant amount. For instance, to secure the full $400,000 unmatched grant, projects must incur $4 million in capital expenditures. Contact PCDA for application inquiries. Recent applications have funded projects like new turning lanes and road repaving within industrial parks.
